Our Story

Wise Women Wise Money was founded on a simple but powerful belief: when women understand their money, they change their future.

For too long, many women have been left without access to financial education, navigating decisions without clear guidance, support, or tools. The result is often uncertainty, stress, and cycles that repeat across generations.

We exist to change that.

What began as a vision for financial empowerment has grown into a movement focused on education, self-leadership, and long-term financial stability. Through community, resources, and practical guidance, we help women move from uncertainty to clarity—and from survival to sustainable growth.

Wise Women, Wise Money was founded by Marlene Campbell to help women and girls build financial confidence, leadership, and independence through education and community.

Marlene’s journey with money began in struggle. She faced debt, financial instability, and a poverty mindset that kept her trapped in constant pressure to earn and survive. That experience led her to seek answers and teach herself how money truly works.

A turning point came through learning from Helen, a financial educator with over 40 years of experience teaching women how to manage money and build financial freedom through the Wise Up program at the College of Marin.

Our FOUNDER

MARLENE CAMPBELL

Inspired to create more access for women, Marlene launched an action based community where women come together to build financial foundations, create structure, and take ownership of their money, goals, and future.

Her work has expanded into speaking in high schools and community events, including the Marin Teen Girls Conference 2025, bringing financial education to the next generation.

Today, Wise Women, Wise Money is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by a passionate board and growing community. Together, we are committed to closing the gap in financial education and empowering women to lead their money, their families, and their future with confidence.
